Mark Anthony LaRose was born in River Forest, Illinois, March 28, 1957; admitted to bar, Illinois, 1982; admitted to bar, Michigan, 2000; U.S. District Court, Central District of Illinois, 1983; Northern District of Illinois, Northern District Trial Bar, 1987; U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, 1992; U.S. District Court, Western District of Michigan, 2001; U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, 1996; U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, 2004; Northern District Court of Indiana, 2006.

Education: Southern Illinois University (B.S. with honors, 1979; J.D., 1982, Law Review).

Experience: Illinois Assistant Attorney General, General Law Division and Environmental Control Division, 1983-1986. In-house Counsel to Fritz Enterprises and Eumet of America, 1986-1991; Private Practice 1991-1996; Co-Founder and Principal in LaRose & Bosco, Ltd. 1996 – present.

Lecturer: Mark has frequently written and presented legal CLEs on such topics as discovery, surviving COVID, mental health, alcoholism, drug abuse, diversity and inclusion, and many others.

Concentration:  Mark concentrates in all areas of civil litigation, environmental law, corporate and business transactions and is a well-known as a successful litigator. His reputation in the legal community is one of strong advocacy for his clients tempered with integrity and respect for his opponents and the legal process.

Mark is a licensed Michigan realtor and has conducted business and commercial transactions in the Midwest and across the country. Mark's transactional experience includes: business contracts, real estate transactions, corporate formations and dissolutions, partnership formations and transactions, transactions involving limited liability companies, asset purchases and sales, stock transactions, secured and unsecured transactions, notes, mortgages, security agreements, UCC filings, general corporate representation and annual reporting, and environmental transactions.

Mark has been practicing environmental and recycling law since his days at the Illinois Attorney General’s office between 1983 and 1986. Since that time, Mark has consulted with and represented large and small companies in the scrap metal recycling industry, the solid waste industry, and the landfill and transfer station business. He represents PRPs in federal Superfund cases (CERCLA). Mark has assisted clients in the purchase and sale of landfills, transfer stations, compost facilities, scrap yards, and other matters. Mark consults with his clients regarding environmental compliance, and often opposes local, state, and federal EPAs in administrative compliance and enforcement cases.

Mark spends a significant portion of time in our New Buffalo, Michigan office. He also routinely helps people establish and maintain beach rights, riparian rights issues, and property line disputes.
