Our Story
Mark LaRose and Joe Bosco are best friends, but it wasn’t always that way. They grew up across the street from one another. Joe attended public schools; Mark attended Catholic schools. It was the Catholic guy that was the bad boy. For much of their grade school and high school years, they did not get along. That all changed when they separately decided to attend Southern Illinois University and ended up in the same dorm. From day one they became best of friends. Throughout college and law school, Mark and Joe owned a painting business -- J & J Painting. During the summer and holidays, they and their crew of brothers, friends, and other summer pals, painted houses, factories, and just about anything else you apply paint to.
After graduation from law school, Mark and Joe took separate paths, both ending up at medium-sized laws firms as associates and later contract partners. In 1996, Mark left his firm with his long-time assistant, Mary Karson, to start Mark A. LaRose, Ltd. Mark rented several offices from his mentors Leonard Amari and Joe Locallo, with the hope of expanding. In 2000, Joe left his firm, and LaRose & Bosco, Ltd. was formed. In 2003, Dave Koppelman joined the firm thanks to the introduction from Joe’s father, Judge Anthony Bosco. Dave became a partner in 2005. LaRose & Bosco outgrew its space at Amari & Locallo, moved to 200 N. LaSalle Street in Chicago, and more recently to 1011 Lake Street in Oak Park. Long-time associates, David Aron and Costa Diamond became partners in January 2024. Rounding out our current crew are bookkeeper/billing coordinator Gaby Contreras, and legal assistants Mary Karson, Cari LaRose, Winifred Rodriguez, and Michael Honn. We have always considered LaRose & Bosco to be a family; we stick together no matter what obstacles life throws at us. Many of our clients over the years have become and remain close personal friends. All of this has resulted in a full-service, family and business oriented law firm that pays attention to every detail with the integrity and care necessary to succeed.
